Sample Meta-Analysis Workspaces

In May 2005, the journal Human Brain Mapping published a Special Issue on Meta-Analysis of Functional Brain Mapping (Volume 25, Issue 1). Sleuth workspaces of selected meta-analyses presented in this issue are available on their respective BrainMap Citation pages.

  2. Owen, et al: N-back working memory paradigm: A meta-analysis of normative functional neuroimaging studies.
    [BrainMap Citation]

  3. Glahn, et al: Beyond hypofrontality: A quantitative meta-analysis of functional neuroimaging studies of working memory in schizophrenia.
    [BrainMap Citation]

  4. Price, et al: Meta-analyses of object naming: Effect of baseline.

Sample Meta-Analysis Results

"Prefrontal activation deficits during episodic memory in schizophrenia"

American Journal of Psychiatry, 166(8):863-874, 2009. By: Ragland JD, Laird AR, Ranganath C, Blumenfeld RS, Gonzales SM, Glahn DC.

Results for "Between-group differences in functional imaging studies of episodic encoding in patients with schizophrenia and comparison subjects" (Table 3):

  1. Comparison subjects minus schizophrenia patients
  2. Schizophrenia patients minus comparison subjects

Results for "Between group differences in functional imaging studies of episodic retrieval in patients with schizophrenia and comparison subjects" (Table 4):

  1. Comparison subjects minus schizophrenia patients
  2. Schizophrenia patients minus comparison subjects

Images files can be viewed in your neuroimaging software of choice (we support use of Mango). All coordinates were analyzed in Talairach space, and the final ALE images distributed here are in Talairach space, thresholded at a corrected P<0.05. Please use the anatomical template links on the right to access our Talairach template. ALE clusters greater than 300 mm3 (including submaxima within larger clusters) are recorded in the corresponding excel summary file.
